The Nebo Story | Specialty Coffee Roastery in Jabal Amman

Every great coffee begins with an origin. And Nebo, like every great coffee, began with a cup — a single cup that changed the way we understood coffee forever.

The Beginning: A Cup That Wasn't Ordinary

Before there was a roastery, a café, or a name on a bag, there was a handful of whole beans from Kenya, roasted over a gentle flame in a pan, inside a family kitchen in Amman. We ground it, we brewed it, we tasted it — and the cup opened into a whole world: bright, layered, alive.

We didn't have the language for it then — no origin vocabulary, no understanding of process, elevation, or profile. But we could taste that these beans had carried something with them: a place, a story, a life before the cup. In that moment, coffee stopped being just coffee, and became a quest worth following.

From Kenya to a Kitchen in Amman

Those beans didn't arrive by chance. They came as a gift from a  friend, having travelled from a farm in Kenya to Athens, and then to the family kitchen in Amman — a small gift that kept on giving. There, they were roasted by a mother's hands in the most familiar way: over a flame, in a pan, by hands that understood coffee through memory, instinct, and tradition, long before any science or standard.

Like every great coffee, Nebo began with an origin — then found one of its own.

Why "Nebo"?

The roastery took its name from Mount Nebo, one of Jordan's most meaningful historic sites — a name that carries a sense of place, perspective, and discovery. From the spirit of that place, Nebo was built to be more than a specialty coffee roastery: a contemporary Arab coffee house from Jordan, dedicated to helping people taste better, understand deeper, and appreciate quality with intention.

What Nebo Is Today

Founded in 2023 in Jabal Amman, we curate our coffee with care, roast it with scientific precision, and serve it through memorable sensory rituals — making specialty coffee feel premium yet approachable. Every bag, every cup, and every partnership is an invitation to notice more: the aroma, the origin, the roast, the process, and the feeling behind every coffee.
